Teaching
Human factors taught as an engineering discipline, grounded in measuring and modeling human performance.

- ENGG / BMEN 519Human–AI InteractionNew course designed by Dr. Park. Treats the human–AI team as the unit of analysis: signal detection, Bayesian decision-making, calibration and reliance, POMDP-based shared autonomy, dataset shift and medical-device safety.Fall 2025, Fall 2026
- BMEN 631Human Factors Engineering and User-Centered DesignGraduate course on designing equipment, displays and work systems around human capabilities, with a focus on clinical safety. Expanded in 2026 with modules on displays, warnings, user-centered design, work physiology and thermal stress.Winter 2025, Winter 2026

“Once someone attended his lecture, they wouldn’t want to miss it again.”
For the three Calgary courses Dr. Park built 52 lecture decks (about 2,670 slides), 73 practice questions tagged by topic and difficulty, and three examination review guides.
Mentoring
Dr. Park has advised more than 40 student researchers at three universities since 2020. Since 2024, supervised students have been first authors on 20 papers, including in ACM CHI, npj Digital Medicine and Scientific Reports, and have won three HFES student paper awards. He has served on 6 thesis committees and 8 thesis examinations.
